OUR COMMUNITY

The aims of Titahi Bay Horticultural Society are to:

  1. Promote the study and practice of horticulture in all of its various branches.

  2. Encourage and foster civic pride in the beautification and improvement of the Titahi Bay area through membership of and regular meetings of the Society, home gardening, and horticulture.

We're proud to be part of the Titahi Bay community and live these values in our community activities. View a selection of highlights from our community good works over the past couple of years below.

We love supporting the mahi of other local community organisations and school garden programmes with donations, supplies and volunteering for their horticultural projects too, and are proud to have supported:

Porirua City’s Adopt-a-Spot project - Tom's Road Mural

The Toms Road mural, painted by artist Ellen Coup is part of Porirua City’s Adopt-a-Spot project, and features a Titahi Bay beach scene, with a sneak-peek inside one of the Bay’s iconic boatsheds. We chose the Toms Road spot to adopt as it is a key route to the beach and the Surf Club – and the Wellington Electricity box on the corner was crying out for some beautification! We managed the project, with support from the Porirua City Council. Read more here.
